So do the math! If you ride two up you can get TWO helmets with the same features that some of the most expensive helmets have PLUS Bluetooth for under $750.00!!! One of the other brands with a Bluetooth headset will run you over $1,000.00 for ONE!

RKA DOES HAVE "Buy_Me" buttons for the “VEGA/SENA Package” so just Click here

RKA DOES NOT HAVE "Buy_Me" buttons for the 10% off RKA luggage deals so you will need to call 1-800-349-1-RKA (1752) or 707-836 -7659.
You can also email us about the discount if you are across the pond. One way or another we will get you a nice deal.

Kathy and I just got back from the AIMExpo in Orlando. Where we got to meet some old friends that we have not seen in years. We flew in Melinda, our new “Social Media Guru” and we all made new friends and many media contacts.

The actual event was the 16th to the 20th of October, but what a ride, 4 days to get there, Tuesday setup and then Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday then a two day drive to Oklahoma for a quick visit at the farm in Oklahoma. Then two and a half more days home.

So Kathy and I spent a few days at the farm. Make sure you tune into the December Newsletter next month as there will be a story on Kathy’s “Farm”. She is an oil, cattle, and wheat baron ;-). She and her brothers and sisters own this family “farm” with two wells, 14 cattle we counted while there and 50 acres of wheat on the 160 acre spread.

In this issue are several videos you cannot miss. A couple of videos on AMA “Hall of Fame” inductees, a land speed attempt, NEW SENA products, A trailer to a great NEW motorcycle movie, the introduction of Greg’s Garage, and MORE!.

Also we got to see a lot of the new products coming out for next year. For RKA applications and products the big deal was SENA. Once again they jump ahead of everyone else on the block. The first quarter of 2014 SENA will release a new SPORT CAMERA that allows you to control and narrate through your SENA headset to the camera! Awesome stuff!! They also will release their new SMH20 and we think the ONE new feature on this unit is way out there. It allows you to Bluetooth to ONE headset of another manufacturer!

Again awesome stuff! To learn about the many other new features on this unit see the article and videos below.

PRE ORDER 2014 SENA PRODUCTS!!

We do not have solid pricing or a locked in release date but RKA will be taking pre-orders starting right now. Just give us a call and we will put you in line for the first shipment. The more you all order the bigger order RKA can place which will give RKA some clout and be moved up the line for the first shipment.

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

Hi Richard:

I’ve been using the SM-10 with the Goldwing adaptor cord for the past week on my 2013 GL1800 Goldwing. I already had installed the SHM-10R headset in my helmet (in this case, an Arai RX-Q). The SM-10 was pretty much a plug-and-play experience – hook up the adaptor cord to the Honda driver cord, plug it into the (charged) SM10, turn it on. The pairing process was simple, and, once done, I had tunes. I mounted the SM10 on the flat area below my tachometer.
I have my iPod touch plugged into the USB port in the top box. So, with that, I have AM/FM/Weather, and the iPod all available to my Bluetooth helmet, and selectable via the Honda controls. I wear earplugs, so I might have the levels set higher than folks that don’t wear earplugs. I set the volume level on the bike at 20 (out of 30), and adjust the volume at my helmet to my desired level. I’ve ridden the whole week on one charge.
Sound-quality wise, it is not quite as good as going directly from my iPod to my helmet, via Bluetooth. But, it’s close.
My only concern is with the adaptor cord. It seems pretty wimpy, but it has worked just fine so far. The cord between the SR-10 and my 2-way radio is wimpy as well. I am used to the cords and connectors that came with my old Autocom system.
I don’t have a CB on the bike, but, if I did, it would be nice to have the whole system work together. For now, I have the SM-10 for on-board Honda audio, and the SR-10 for 2-way communication via radio. And, the SR-10 goes with me, if desired, when I use my other bikes.
I hope this is helpful. Please feel free to call or email me if you have questions.
Thanks for all of your help.

Paul

Sirs, and Maams:

I want to thank you for the strap you sent me to replace my lost one. I really intended to purchase this item. I certainly didn't expect to receive a free replacement.
This kind of service is above and beyond what's normally expected today, and in this economy.
Be assured that I will spread the word in my local biking community about your customer service and quality products.
I will also be posting letters to the magazines I subscribe to (BMWMOA, BMW RA and AMA) about your great customer care.
Thank you again.

Roy

Richard

I enjoyed your newsletter. I either missed it the past few months or it has been awhile since your last one? Regardless, very funny stuff about the English tourist’s experiences; and the password reset - you know what's coming but it was hilarious.
I learned something new - you have more products. Somehow I focused only on your luggage. Now I see a lot of other very cool stuff. Also, I like the helmets - I may look at those a bit closer.
In closing, the letter regarding Ozzy: the letter conveyed hope and love. Keep up the good work.
Regards,

James

Walk down the aisles of a trade show long enough and everything starts to look the same. However, once in a while you see something that stops you in your tracks. This was the case when we saw the RKA Luggage In Charge Tank Bag at the American International Motorcycle Expo in Orlando, Fla.

A tank bag wouldn’t normally be enough to grab our attention, but the In Charge Tank Bag is far from normal. This bag allows you to install a GPS, radar detector or any other device on the bag’s rotating dashboard mounts. It’s an amazingly creative use of space. Portals on the bag allow you to put wires and cables inside the bag. These portals can also be used for a hydration system if you choose.

ADAPTIV interviewed

While many motorcycle vests and jackets feature material that glows in the dark, we saw one product take it to the next level at the American International Motorcycle Expo in Orlando, Fla.
Adaptiv Technology’s GlowRider Vest and Jacket feature electro-luminescent technology. For the uninitiated, these are thin, flexible strips that light up, offering enhanced visibility for night time riding. According to Adaptiv, the strips are powered by two AA batteries that last approximately 70 hours in flashing mode. Should the batteries ever fun down while you are on your ride, both the GlowRider Vest and Jacket also feature reflective material.
Visit AdaptivTech.com for more information on the GlowRider line of products.

APP OF THE MONTH REPORT
Now that some of us are getting older a place to stop and take a break a little nap or to relieve ourselves is now a big priority. So on this latest trip across the country I decided to find an app that shows where the rest stops are. Here are two, they are both good but show information in two different ways.

US Rest Areas provides you an easy way to search for a rest stop on your next trip. Initially the map shows clusters of rest areas, as you zoom in individual rest area markers will appear. You may also use the search box at the bottom left to allow you to jump to a particular city or address.

We have tried to provide a complete list of services for each rest area indicated by a universal symbol. If you hover your mouse over a symbol a label will appear. Please let us know how we can improve this site to help you better in the contact page or at the link at the bottom. Thanks for coming and we hope this information is helpful.
