Some motorcycle seats have a large lip or no lip at all. When this is the case the rubber coated hooks are not usable. (NOTE: The SV650's seat works with the STANDARD attachment system. We are using this seat only to show the application).
The first fix for this problem is to open up thr "J" hook with pliers and make them into an "L" hook. Always use the rubber coated "J" hooks when ever possible on the 47 liter and 26 to 52 liter saddlebags. Only when this is no longer an option we have a second fix. The second fix is to call us and get a free "Special saddlebag attachment system".

This system eliminates the rubber coated hooks using hook & loop. With the top straps attached, lay the saddlebags over the seat and note where the straps will lay. A light chalk mark will do. Remove and set the bags aside.
Lay the seat upside down, With the backing still on the stick-on loop, position the straps on the seat where you want them, they should be about six inches apart. Center the small metal snap on the top of the seat.

Note or mark where the hook & loop straps fold under the seat. Stick the stick-on tabs of "loop" on the bottom of the seat at the four marked locations.YOU MAY WANT TO RUFF UP THE CONTACT POINTS A LITTLE WITH A LIGHT SANDPAPER.
Attach loop side strap by pressing the Hook & Loop together, and snug it down over the seat with a little tension, attach to the other side of the bottom of the seat. Make sure you snug the velcro strap down enough so when the seat is put back on the strap is still tight.

Re-install the seat, and your ready for the top straps and saddlebags. At this point the hook & loop should be the only thing between the seat and the bodywork. If you want to remove the bottom straps when not using the saddlebags simply pop the seat open and remove the straps, leaving the loop tabs hidden under the seat.
