You have chosen an exclusive premium piece of motorcycle luggage.
Before using your luggage it's best to protect them with 303 Fabric Guard. One of the only products on the market that has UV protection. Which will slow the fading process.
These online instructions cover two of our three saddlebag applications. Our standard 47 liter saddlebags, and our eXpandable 52 liter saddlebags.
Both types of saddlebags consist of:
1: Two bags having inserts front back and bottom. There is a left and right bag, the "RKA" logo always faces to the rear of the motorcycle.
2: There is a strap on the inside front lower section of each bag with a cam buckle attached.
3: There is ONE strap attached to the right saddlebag also with a cam buckle.
4: Two bottom straps with rubber coated hooks attached (pictured).
5: Two top straps with quick release buckles attached (pictured).
If you purchased your bags from a dealer and/or feel the bottom straps or top straps
(4 or 5 above) are not the correct size give us a call.
For this instruction we are using our SV650, a perfect bike to attach our luggage to. Your motorcycle may be a little different and require some small adjustments. If you have ANY questions or problems please feel free to call us. We are here to help.
Start with the seat straps with the rubber coated hooks. These straps are sized for your seat. In some cases one will be shorter than the other. The shorter strap generally will attach to the rear most part of the seat. Unsnap and set aside the top straps with the quick release buckles.
Standing on the left side of the motorcycle reach over and hook the rubber coated hook under the seat lip using the hook & loop side that folds under (Click photo at left for a larger image).
|
Adjust the strap so the metal snap ends up in the middle of the seat (centered), then attach the rubber coated hook to the left side seat lip snug down by pulling the hook tab up and securing to the loop. Repeat this with the other strap keeping them about six inches apart. When finished they should look like the photo.

|
Now take the top straps shown,
(Click photo at left for a larger image) and snap them onto the bottom straps,
|
as shown (Click photo at left for a larger image) In addition to the snaps you will notice they also secure with hook and loop to the bottom straps for even more security.
|
Attach each saddlebag by snapping the quick release buckles together making sure you hear the "CLICK" . (Click photo at left for a larger image). At this point you can adjust the bags higher or lower using the adjustable straps. HIGHER IS BETTER, we recommend you adjust the bags on the high side so there is less chance of interference with the pipes or tire.
|
On the front inside lower section of each bag is a webbing strap with a cam buckle, see (Click photo at left for a larger image). These straps wrap around the "V" of the passenger foot peg bracket. Adjust the cam buckles by sliding them along the webbing. Then string the webbing through the cam buckle, snug down the bags and close the cam buckle. making sure the webbing is laying in the canal of the cam. This keeps the bags from blowing out at speed.
|
On the rear inside lower section of each bag is a keeper. On the right side bag is a webbing strap with a cam buckle already attached to the keeper. Run the webbing OVER the fender and UNDER the licence plate, then string the webbing through the keeper on the left bag. Snug down the bags and close the cam bu ckle, making sure the webbing is laying in the canal of the cam. The cam buckle will slide along the webbing to adjust.
See (Click photo above and at right for a larger image) This attachment application keeps the bags from sliding forward under heavy braking.

Internal Support system
Please read carefully!!
This is a very important part of the saddlebag system. It is simple and it works. There are two lengths of webbing with hook and loop, sewn to the bottom inside of each bag. When loading your luggage lay these straps of webbing out and over the edge of the bag (Click photo at left for a larger image). When you have finished loading run the tips of the webbing through the metal "D" rings on the top inside of the bags, pull them back until the bags are leveled, then secure them with the hook & loop See (Click photo below for a larger image). When the system is properly set the bags will NOT sag.
The 52 liter saddlebags attach exactly the same way as the 47 liter bags.
When the saddlebags are expanded use the extra insert for additional support by sliding through the fabric slot.
