The idea for RKA was started in 1983 with one bag we decided to try and market, thinking we would become at least millionaires in a year!! NOT!
The business was actually started in March of 1985.
We started with only one item and have expanded to the products you see in this online brochure
Richard & Kathy (The R&K) are both from the thoroughbred race horse industry.
Kathy had her own business in Arcadia California for 13 years, making jockey silks and accessories for the racing industry.

Haven't aged a bit :-)

In October of 1995 she spent 10 days,
in Old Mexico on a Pancho Villa Expedition exploring on her TranAlp.

For you woman interested, she is 5'3" and learned to ride in 1985 after being a passenger all her life,

Richard has 7 years of restaurant management, and also was an Owner/Trainer of thoroughbred race horses. this profession has been in the family for over three generations.

Richard & Kathy currently own several motorcycles, a 1983 Suzuki Katana 750 with 73,000 miles and still going!, 1999 SV650 Suzuki, and a 2005 BMW R1200ST

We are motorcyclists!! At right above is a photo of Kathy coming out of the last turn at Buttonwillow race track and down the front straight. This was one of the last times she rode her trusty MZ. ;-) Also a photo of Richard moving along the back side of the course at speed on our Suzuki TL1000S decked out with all the trick stuff. ;-)

Kathy and I have deicded to GET A LIFE, :-)

So we will not be traveling as we were in the past.
We did outdoor and indoor shows, rallies and races like the Honda Hoot, New York International Motorcycle Show, AMA events, BMW national etc.

We still have our trusty Dodge van and a 22 foot trailer, you can catch us at a rally or race here or there.
