A word about the F800GT RKA liners and the BMW hard saddlebag design.
|
|
As of 02-17-13 we have not physically seen a set of BMW soft Linerbags.
We normally do not want to see ANY other designs as we design them the way RKA thinks they are the best fit and with the most usable space.
There is an issue though with the F800GT hardbag design. BMW has placed a “Shelf” inside the hardbags so the soft liners set level and do not fall out of the bag or into the lid. Great right?
RKA thinks, not so great, as when you try to close the bag the lid will not close if the soft liners are big enough to use all the usable space (SEE PHOTO THREE).
In order to close the lids you need to physically PUSH the liners down to press them into the lid, and then the bags will close properly.
At this time RKA made the decision to make the bags big enough to use ALL the usable space. Later on RKA may manufacture a second design which will be smaller to close easily with the hard bags. For now RKA thinks our customers want more space since the hardbags are already small.
