Ben's
R1200GS
Ben just picked up his IN-Charge bag this day.
We made it in Charcoal with Silver piping at his request. Pretty cool yes?
You can see the Zumo on the handlebars. It will be leaving there soon for the front of the IN-ChargeTankbag, along with a new radar detector.. |

K1200GT
This is becoming THE RKA communcations bag bike of choice.
So here are some application photos for you. FYI, These are NEW bags with a protective film cover over the map case
These were all taken with the STOCK handlebars, if you have pull back/extensions the whole dynamics change.
One more note for the NON GT owners, if it works on this moto it will pretty much work on ANY moto :-). |

Speakers
Mics
|
The Speakers used for all Tecstar headsets are no ordinary speakers, the speaker itself is special providing a class leading frequency response, power output and compact size. This results in a comfortable fit helmet speaker that provides an impressive bass response making for excellent stereo audio quality and clear and natural speech. The output power allows for loud music and speech through ear plugs and the helmet lining.
Dimensions: Speaker unit: dia=30mm depth=7mm. Cover dia=60mm total depth=8mm
|
The microphone is critical to the performance of a helmet system, it must only pick up speech directly in front and close to it. The potential high levels of background noise, wind noise and vibration can make speech impossible if the microphone were to pick up these noises. The Tecstar microphone has been carefully designed to be virtually immune to vibration and virtually deaf to wind and background noises. The microphone design is common to SH-004, SH-006 Even used totally unprotected with open face helmets and no fairing communication is perfectly possible at very high speeds. The SH-004 kits has a dome mic which is fix with a velcro disc into the chin guard of the helmet directly in front of the mouth. The SH-006 and SH-010 kits have the mic on a stiff boom allowing the position to be adjusted again to directly in front of the users mouth.

XM Antenna
Applications and Ideas
The Concept |
What do I do with the XM30 Antenna?
First lets clarify; the XM30 is not only an antenna it also IS the XM radio. The Zumo 550 is just an interface, as it is with your phone. The Zumo 550 is not a telephone it just interfaces YOUR phone via Bluetooth.
The XM30 antenna can attach wherever you want, on the fender, on a glove box, on the rear rack, on the tankbag, anywhere as long as it has a clear view of the southern skies. That’s where the XM satellites hang out. In other words you cannot put it IN your tankbag or IN your glove box.
Before you jump on this project there are some things you may want to consider.
The Zumo 550 comes with a car cradle so you can move the Zumo 550 by just clicking it out of the motorcycle cradle and clicking it into the car cradle. WOW now I have my Zumo in the car! BUT what about the XM30 antenna?
Since the antenna IS the XM radio, you subscribe to the antenna for XM service, not the Zumo 550. So if you want XM you need to bring the XM30 along with you in the 4 wheeler or other moto.
When RKA builds you a complete system we use the XM30 antenna extension cable, attaching it to the Zumo Cradle then running it ALL into the control box inside the bag. We then zip tie all the excess cable and run the other end back out leaving the end exposed about 3 inches, in effect making a pig tail for the antenna to attach to.
THINK ABOUT THIS ….. We do it this way because it would be very hard to take the XM cable from the Zumo cradle and move the antenna every time you want to move it to the four wheeler or another moto.
With the pigtail setup you just unplug the antenna from the pigtail, pick it up and carry it to the dash of your four-wheeler or other moto.
These photos and instructions are ONLY SUGGETSIONS, has every moto is different.
